About Us

Anthony Tucker

Dear Hoopers,

Let’s get straight to the point. I love the game of basketball. It has been the thing I have cared about most for as long as I can remember, and it continues to shape my life today. Teaching this game is not something I take lightly. It is a privilege to work with so many of you, from experienced players who share my passion to young athletes who are discovering the joy of basketball for the first time.

I have been fortunate to experience this game at every level, both as a player and a coach. Those experiences have given me a perspective that I am proud to bring back home to Minnesota. The lessons you learn through basketball stay with you forever. They build discipline, confidence, and toughness. They teach you how to respond to challenges and how to keep choosing growth even when it is difficult.

At Hoop Habits, we believe greatness is built through consistent effort. It comes from the habits you choose, the decisions you make, and the work you put in when no one is watching. Our training reflects the reality of competition. We teach the game the way it is actually played. Fast. Dynamic. Full of reads and reactions that demand understanding as much as skill.

It is exciting to be part of your journey and to help shape the present and future of Minnesota basketball. I am grateful you are here, and I cannot wait to see what you become through this work.

Let’s Get To Work!

Why Hoop Habits?

Built and led by pros

Our trainers have all played at the highest levels and bring an unparalleled basketball IQ to training sessions with every athlete who walks through our doors.

Conceptual training that translates

We teach spacing, reads, decision-making, and game IQ — the “why” behind the skill that separates good from great.

A culture for the committed

Athletes who train here work harder, think the game better, and hold themselves to a higher standard.

Minnesota’s top talent trains here

From youth players to Division I recruits to professionals, Hoop Habits attracts the state’s most dedicated competitors.

Holistic athlete development

Skill work, strength, conditioning, mindset and nutrition support come together to give athletes everything they need to reach their full potential.

Our Approach

At Hoop Habits, we believe players improve most when training mirrors real game challenges. Our methods are designed to not only develop skills, but to teach athletes how to apply our training techniques and concepts to live game situations. How to think the game, and not just execute movements. Conceptual training is as important, if not more, than individual drill work. We focus on concepts such as spacing, reading the defense, and preparing for situations that athletes will encounter throughout the course of a game. When an athlete steps onto the court and recognizes a scenario before it unfolds, when they make a sound decision under pressure, and when their preparation shows in real time, that is when the work becomes visible. That is the moment they can say, with confidence, “WE WORK ON THAT!”
