ABOUT US
Our Approach
At Hoop Habits, our training method is designed to not only develop skills, but to teach athletes how to apply our training techniques and concepts to live game situations. Conceptual training is as important, if not more, than individual drill work. We focus on concepts such as spacing, reading the defense, and preparing for situations that athletes will encounter throughout the course of a game. We want to see you apply what we work on at Hoop Habits on the court - and give you the confidence to say "WE WORK ON THAT!"

Meet Coach Tuck
Dear hoopers,
Let's get straight to the point - I LOVE the game of basketball. It has been the thing that I have been most passionate about and cared for since the time I can remember. I am thrilled about the opportunity to teach the game I love to so many of you - from veteran players as passionate about the game as me, to those who are just beginning to discover their love for the game. I have been fortunate enough to experience basketball at every level, as both a coach and player, and have developed a unique perspective that I am excited to share with the present and future of Minnesota basketball.
Let's get to work!
A Twin Cities native and graduate of Minnetonka High School, Anthony Tucker led the Skippers to a State Championship and a top 10 national ranking during his senior year in 2008. Tucker was named the Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year and graduated as the school’s all-time leading scorer. He earned a scholarship to play in the Big Ten for the Iowa Hawkeyes before finishing his college career at Minnesota State University - Moorhead, where he was named to the All-Conference and All-Region Teams.
Tucker boasts an accomplished 11 year professional career spanning nine countries and including four finals appearances, one MVP award, one scoring title, and three assist titles. He also played in the NBA G League for the Windy City Bulls. He has five years of basketball coaching experience serving as a head AAU coach and program director, high school varsity assistant, and head coach of a professional team in Taiwan.
Coach Courtney
Skills Trainer
Introducing Courtney Boylan Douglass - Since graduating and winning Miss Basketball Minnesota in 2008, Courtney has continued to stay involved with her passion for basketball. She was a 4-year scholar athlete and letter winner at the University of Michigan. Courtney then went on to be a Division I assistant basketball coach at Northern Kentucky University where she helped lead NKU to two consecutive winning seasons and post-season tournaments. She then played professional basketball in Israel for 8 seasons and recently retired after winning an Israeli League Championship in her last season.
During those 8 years, she would spend her summers in Minnesota working with thousands of basketball players and helping with the skill development at some of the top high school programs in the state. She now lives in Minnesota full-time and is continuing her passion for mentoring and developing basketball players at every age and level.
Coach Nate Wolters

He continued his career overseas, where he played for some of the highest level teams in Europe. Nate played college basketball for South Dakota State University, where he was an NCAA All American and led his team to two Division I NCAA tournament appearances. Nate is excited to help players of all ages and skill levels get better at basketball while also having fun.
